Brillante Mendoza Workshop, Other Activities in SM City-Lipa Weekend of Fun and Learning

Award-winning Filipino director Brillante Mendoza (Ma Rosa, Thy Womb, etc.) launches a film appreciation workshop of his own movie “Taklub” at 5 o’clock in the afternoon of 14 October, a Friday, at SM City in Lipa City, Batangas. The workshop is one of several events being dubbed by SM City Lipa as a “Weekend of Fun and Learning.”

The launching will be followed by a mini press conference and a meet and greet session with the director. An exhibit about the movie “Taklub” will also be set during the launch, illustrating the film’s highlights and director Mendoza’s milestones in the indie film industry.

The film appreciation workshop, on the other hand, will be held the following day, at eight in the morning at the Cinema 1 of SM City Lipa.

On 15 October, Saturday, the Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG), Batangas Chapter will be staging the regional eliminations of the Sudoku Super Challenge. This annual event aims to promote the learning of Mathematics among students and professionals through the Sudoku Puzzle.

MTG Coordinator and Math teacher Susan Dumayas Ignacio expects that there will be more participants this year. Last year, the regional eliminations were able to gather 120 Sudoku players. Meanwhile, 2013 winner Albriz Moore Bagsic has already excelled in Sudoku and Math contests in the international arena.

Culinary and pastry enthusiasts may take celebrate World Bread Day by way of an event on 16 October also at SM City Lipa. The authors of the book “Panaderia: Philippine Bread, Biscuit and Bakery Traditions” will be having a book signing activity at the SM Events Center.

Authors Amy Uy and Jenny Morillo documented and immortalized the stories of traditional bakeries around the Philippines. SM City Lipa has also invited the renowned bakeries in the Batangas province to exhibit their heirloom products.
