How Batangas Voted in the Presidential, VP and Senatorial Elections

With 100% of Certificates of Canvass received by the Commission on Elections from Batangas, the picture is crystal clear how much support – or lack of it – each presidential, vice-presidential and senatorial candidate received from the province.

President-elect Rodrigo Duterte won the most number of votes in Batangas among the presidential aspirants, but by less than 3,000 votes over second running Grace Poe. Further back was Jejomar Binay, who has Batangas roots, at third place, with almost 80,000 more votes than fourth-ranked Mar Roxas.

In the vice-presidential race, the Liberal Party’s Leni Robredo won overwhelming support from Batangueños with more than half a million votes, 21% more than second placed Bongbong Marcos. Chiz Escudero won the third most number of votes in Batangas, but with almost 30 thousand less votes than Marcos.

In the senatorial race, Ralph Recto unsurprisingly reaped the most number of votes in the province, followed by Joel Villanueva, Ping Lacson and Risa Hontiveros. Also making the top 12 in Batangas are Vicente Sotto, Kiko Pangilinan, Dick Gordon, Leila de Lima, Isko Moreno, Win Gatchalian and Migz Zubiri.

The information contained in this article has been culled from the official Comelec web site. A total of 1,260,604 out of 1,526,195 registered voters cast their ballots for an 82.59% turnout in the province.
